TECHNOLOGY, in particular communications technology, is supporting and changing in unprecedented ways how we organise our businesses, our governing systems, our economies, and our cultures. With new technology comes increasing CONNECTIVITY; harnessing its strengths whilst protecting our social norms and social environments is critical to the SUSTAINABILITY of our individual businesses, communities and society.
The conference will be opened by Peter Cheese the CEO of the CIPD. With over 140,000 members worldwide the CIPD has a major impact on the world of work and Peter will address the three conference themes of Sustainability, Connectivity & Technology. Peter says:
“We are in fast changing times, with political, economic, social and technological change all happening. These shifts impact us all, but there are key principles of good work, of creating agile and adaptive organisations, of core skills, and in how we look after and develop people, that will be the cornerstones of sustainable and responsible businesses for the future.”
