Learning from work – practical approaches to CPD

17 January 219

Time: 16:30 to 18:30pm

This event will offer practical ideas of value to those who feel just passing an exam decades ago is not enough to be judged as a true professional.

Andrew Gibbons will describe a 31-year journey of genuine self-driven professional development using informal, workplace events and experiences costing only the few minutes needed to identify and record learning.

You will gain insights to help make the most of informal learning and personalise your development.  Using a variety of experiences to personalise and energise professional development, you’ll explore why CPD matters, how it only takes a few minutes a day to do it well, and the serious benefits it brings.

We’ll start with questions and issues, so have them ready – this event is all about you and your learning.

Andrew Gibbons (andrewgibbons.co.uk) completed his IPM at the ‘old’ Oxstalls site in 1985.  Since 1987 he has kept a handwritten learning log, (it will be here for a perusal), of a million words, extending to four lever arch files. This is but one element of his low/no cost CPD strategy that he will share in a thoroughly interactive workshop.

Registration from 4.00pm when refreshments will be served.  The event starts at 4.30pm and finishes at 6.30pm.

Teas and coffees will be served at 4.00pm.

Parking is on a pay and display basis - cost £2.00.
