Competitive people strategy

Gloucester

4 June 2019

Time: 18:00 to 20:00pm

How can HR create sustainable competitiveness and why, if people are the creators of value, is HR still a support function?  Kevin will explore and explain why measurement, culture, capability, talent, employee experience, leadership and people management, if aligned to a well-crafted business strategy, can create a sustainable competitiveness.

Kevin will talk about Thin Lizzy, Winston Churchill, Tiger Woods and Pirates in his own informative and entertaining way. He assures us he will be rude about HR's obsession with policies, process and procedures and that unless we abandon the 3Ps, others will eat HR's lunch.

Those who saw Kevin speak about HR and Brexit at our Annual Meeting two years ago will tell you this is an event not to be missed!

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Kevin Green was the Chief Executive of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation from June 2008 until he left in 2018. Since then, he has set up the What’s Next Consultancy which supports organisations to think about their competitive strategy, helping them to define the culture and talent necessary for them to deliver their purpose and ambitions.

Previously, Kevin was HR Director at the Royal Mail, where he was responsible for all people-related issues for a business with 165,000 employees. He was part of the leadership team which transformed the business from losing £1 million a day in 2003 to making over £600 million profit in 2007. Prior to this Kevin was Managing Director at Qtab, a successful HR consultancy that helped businesses to develop and implement their people strategies. His clients included Lloyds TSB, First Choice, Fuji, Orange and Unilever.

Kevin is also a well known, regular commentator on radio/TV and soon to be published author.
