A Display to Remember One of the World’s Greatest Pilots

Cheltenham

January - March 2020

The Eric Brown display provides an insight into the early life and military career of a remarkable Fleet Air Arm pilot, Captain Eric Brown (1919-2016) who was given the nickname "Winkle" due to his short stature. He was the most decorated pilot in the history of the Royal Navy, and, as a test pilot, flew 487 types of aircraft, more than anyone else in history. Among his many exploits was the first jet aircraft landing on an aircraft carrier.

Eric Brown was the Jet Age Museum’s Patron and on the 9th of May 2014 he officially opened the Jet Age Museum.
