Council park’s team pledge to plant one thousand trees for Cheltenham’s greenspaces

The council’s parks team have pledged to plant one thousand trees across the greenspaces of Cheltenham in support of The Woodland Trust’s climate change campaign “The Big Climate Fightback”. The team are encouraging people in the local community to volunteer at one of their tree-planting sessions in order to support The Woodland Trust’s goal of tackling climate change.

The pledge also supports the climate change agenda (for more information click on the link below) put forward by the Cheltenham Borough Council which plans on planting one million trees as part of the promotion of a zero carbon future.

Community ranger Ali Moss-Davies from the green space development team said: “Planting these trees will bring many benefits to the greenspaces of Cheltenham and allow us to take action against climate change.

“This is also a fantastic opportunity to support Cheltenham Borough Council’s climate change agenda as well as address the climate change emergency.”

If residents would like to volunteer in the tree-planting sessions below, please register by contacting Ali Moss-Davies by email on the link or call on 01242 264239. Registered volunteers are also being asked to wear suitable, sturdy footwear, warm clothes and bring a spade if they have one.
