Rachmaninov’s Vespers or ‘All Night Vigil’ stands as one of the great unaccompanied choral works. Given the quality of so much of his music, it is telling that the composer loved this piece above all his other compositions. Haunting, powerful, magnificent and intimate, it will take you on an emotionally charged journey. Within the stunning surroundings of Tewkesbury Abbey and with the Cheltenham Bach Choir’s wonderful sound, this promises to be a compelling concert.
