Find out what rococo means, why art was important to the rococo era and have a go at designing your own rococo garden!

In this free workshop, local artist Anthony Lewis Churchill will act the role of an original rococo gardener from the 1740s, helping every participant to design their own garden. The workshop will consider the unique design of the rococo era and the way that art is reflected in the Garden in a fun and interactive manner.

The workshops are free, made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, and will help all young visitors to re-discover the intriguing history behind the Garden and its unique design. They are suitable for children above the age of five.

The workshops form a part of Painswick Rococo Garden’s heritage project, “Celebrating Painswick Rococo Garden”, this summer. Made possible by the support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project focuses on the history of the Gardens - in particular, rococo art and sculpture.

One ticket includes free admission to the Garden for the child participating in the workshop (5+) and one accompanying adult only.
