Welcome to Gloucestershire Advanced Motorists

Our aim is to improve driving standards and road safety in the Gloucestershire area. We offer advanced training to car drivers using our trained volunteer Observers on a one-to-one basis. We also conduct regular theory training days and host a variety of speakers at our evening meetings at Cotswold Area Civil Service Sports Club.

IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driver

• Become the best driver you can be
• DVSA accredited
• Possible cheaper insurance
• Boost your skills

Qualify as an advanced driver on our flagship Advanced Driver course – the only one accredited by the DVSA.

Introduction to advanced driving Seminar

• Seminar runs 4 times a year
• Conducted by an IAM RoadSmart examiner
• All associates are required to attend
• Also free to members of the public

This free seminar session is open to everyone and is suitable for drivers of all experience levels.

Free Taster Drive

• Taster session with the Gloucestershire group
• Conducted by an Observer
• 1 hour drive covering a variety of driving conditions
• The drive is carried out in your car

After the driving session you will be given recommendations and advice on how to improve your driving.

Funding for Young Drivers

• Are you under the age of 26?
• Have a full UK driving licence?
• Live in Gloucestershire?
• Keen on improving your driving?

The Gloucestershire Police and Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire have offered funding over for young drivers to complete the IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driver course.
