Pilley Bridge

Cheltenham

Location: Old Bath Road , Leckhampton, Cheltenham.

Pilley Bridge nature reserve was previously part of the old Kingham railway line.

This linear site is approximately one kilometre long, and as a consequence of the railway embankment, is very sheltered.

A stream flows through the eastern section and is considered valuable for amphibians.

The western section is dry and provides valuable habitats for birds and butterflies.

Wildlife: Birds, butterflies and amphibians. Mammals present include badgers, foxes and grey squirrels.
