Welcome to Shudokan Kendo Dojo.

Kendo means “The way of the sword”. It is a Japanese martial art practised worldwide by men, women and children.

Shudokan Kendo Dojo was founded by John A Richards sensei in 1971, Who had started Kendo at the Zanshin Dojo in Bristol in 1966 under the tutorage of John Clarke Sensei.

Shudokan is now run by John E Richards (4TH Dan Registered Coach). Class sizes average between 10 and 16 and include men and women aged 18 and over of mixed abilities.
