Callow Farm near Ledbury
Forest of Dean
This attractive riverside landscape is being managed under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme to increase the numbers of wild daffodils, which are part of the cultural heritage of North Gloucestershire.
The area is a stronghold for them and the Daffodil Way passes through Callow Farm a few hundred metres to the north. Unlike the daffodil meadows which border this, the field immediately to the east which this permissive footpath circles has not always been in pasture.
The land was formerly arable but was reverted to grass in 1992 and the daffodils transplanted from adjacent fields and encouraged to spread by sensitive management.
Please do not pick the wild daffodils - unlike garden hybrids they will spread by seed if left.
Please keep your dog on a lead to avoid disturbing farm animals and wildlife.
