#CelebratingChildhood – Show your support for No Child Left Behind

·       Flags, bunting, lanyards, stickers and more show us how you’re celebrating childhood this month

Children have a great deal to offer with their wonderful, unique personalities. They often look at life with curiosity, imagination and simplicity.

Inspired by children’s creative outlook the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) team are encouraging the people of Cheltenham to show their support for ALL the children in the town.

Tracy Brown, safeguarding and partnerships manager for Cheltenham Borough Council, says: “Our May theme is #CelebratingChildhood and we hope everyone will show their support whether that’s simply colouring in and displaying a flag or bunting, using the NCLB logo on your social media or something even more creative!

“Share your efforts with us and help us to celebrate our town’s children’s strengths and skills as it can go a long way to helping children feel confident and valued.”

Downloadable resources will be available from  www.cheltenham.gov.uk/NCLB include:

·         colouring-in bunting and flags (ideal for classroom activities or youth groups)

·         Facebook or Twitter banners to share the campaign message

Look out for supporters around the town with staff at Leisure at Cheltenham and Cheltenham Borough Homes wearing NCLB lanyards. The Municipal Offices will be flying a flag and primary schools will be decorating bunting to brighten up their classrooms.

Paul Stephenson, chief executive of Cheltenham Borough Homes (CBH), said: “We’re proud to be part of the No Child Left Behind campaign and will be showing our colours this month with colleagues wearing the NCLB lanyards and badges to show our support and to celebrate childhood.”

If your organisation would like to support the campaign by wearing lanyards or badges contact Jennifer Tucker partnerships officer Jennifer.tucker@cheltenham.gov.uk

Laurie Bell, CEO The Cheltenham Trust said: “The Trust places a huge importance on its role to ensure that No Child is Left Behind and offers a wide range of opportunities and activities to improve the health and wellbeing of young people and to create positive and interactive environments where they can learn and grow.”
