Sponsors sought as Cheltenham reveals plans for ambitious new light projection

Following the successful ‘Cheltenham Remembers’ projection in 2018, Marketing Cheltenham is seeking potential sponsors for their next high profile project, Breaking the Code: Binary 101.

The intention is for the Cheltenham Borough Council-led project to form part of Cheltenham BID’s wider Light Up Cheltenham event in February 2020. The installation will feature a high impact, large scale audio visual projection showcasing Cheltenham’s cyber heritage including the town’s links with GCHQ over the past century.

The animated film will be projected onto the Grade II listed Municipal Offices for two nights and will involve young animators, community groups and schools.

Marketing Cheltenham, who is seeking potential business partners to sponsor the project, will be hosting a sponsorship launch event on Thursday 26th September. The launch will be an opportunity for potential partners to see an exclusive preview of the film’s opening scenes and find out how they can play a vital role in helping to make this event happen.

The project follows on from Cheltenham Remembers in 2018 which marked the centenary of the end of the First World War. This project has since placed Cheltenham within the finalists for an AV Award and a finalist for the APSE Collaborative Working Award.

For more information on how to become a sponsor for this project, or to attend the launch event on the 26th September, please contact events@marketingcheltenham.co.uk.
