Wychwood today announces three more main stage acts – enigmatic Manchester singer/ songwriter Ren Harvieu, Stroud’s high-energy roots-rock The Outcast Band and The Midnight Alliance, a 10-piece group fusing latin, funk, jazz, soul and disco; plus alternative/indie act Kwassa Kwassa will perform in the Dance Tent.
Wychwood has developed a partnership with The Music Works’ Upsurge Talent Development programme, which supports young emerging musicians, artists, producers and engineers aged between 18-30 in Gloucestershire. Upsurge will take over the Hobgoblin stage on Friday with acts set to include Rosita, BAAST, JPDL & Yogi, Eyez & Sleepa, Griz-O, Genuine Panama and Luzzey.
Plus two acts formed from collaborations between authors appearing at Wychwood’s ever popular Children’s Literature Festival - Faces Fall and Gareth P Jones’s Ninja Alien Dinosaur Party - will take to the Hobgoblin stage.
Wychwood also brings in skilled artists and makers to showcase their skills, which will include leather-worker Lauren Pittford, Cotswold-based Metal Art, Ed Org (Fine Art), Sean Keefe of Muggins Pottery, Glass by Cricklade-based Debbie Stevenson, Delilah and the Moon, (designer maker of whimsical boho items), Juliet Myers of Absolutely Clay and Milkiway (unique and distinctive bohemian jewellery).
Tier three tickets have almost all been snapped up and will only be available HERE until May 1, alongside a range of idyllic camping options to choose from.
Headliners The Stranglers, ABC and Scouting for Girls are among more than 100 acts performing across four stages from May 31-June 2, together with a plethora of incredible activities from music, dance, workshops and circus skills through to a well-curated programme of talks, debates and comedy for all ages to enjoy.
Wychwood Festival Director Graeme Merifield said: “We truly believe Wychwood offers something for everyone and with so much entertainment to choose from, we’re now wondering how on earth people will pack it all in!
“The comedy always goes down a storm and this year’s line-up is no exception, but it’s the breadth of family-friendly workshops, activities, music and dance, with loads of local talent getting a bigger platform to perform on, combined with our new site, new dance venue and late-night entertainment across the festival that makes our 15th year celebrations feel so special - it is sure to be one to remember.”
Voted one of the UK's best-loved family festivals, Wychwood has already announced acts including T'Pau, Toyah, Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club, Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band, Ibibio Sound Machine, Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer, DJ’s Steve Davis (yes the snooker player!) and Kavus Torabi, Bez, Count Skylarkin, Tankus The Henge, John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett, The Zangwills, The Baghdaddies, Demi Mariner, Regiment, The Covasettes, Penny Mob, Folk On, Thrill Collins, plus children’s comedian Basil Brush – boom boom!
