Cotswolds Tourism Press Release: 2019 Cotswolds Visitor Guide now available
The new 2019 Cotswolds Visitor Guide is now available for visitors and locals, providing information to tempt potential holidaymakers to the Cotswolds this year. With a print run of 200,000, and a popular handy A5 size, the Cotswolds Visitor Guide will have a wide appeal both to people who think they know the Cotswolds and those who have never visited before.
The publication is Cotswolds Tourism’s main annual printed guide and provides a whole range of ideas about how to best enjoy the beautiful countryside, quintessential English towns and villages, as well as the huge array of fantastic places to stay and things to see and do.
The front cover features Cirencester, the Capital town of the Cotswolds, seen from Cirencester Park. This picture will become familiar all over the Cotswolds, as local company Glide Media will display the image on one of their distribution vans. They will work with Cotswolds Tourism to distribute the guide across a wide area, as well as the London market, as part of a partnership scheme. The back cover showcases the Regency town of Cheltenham, which - working with Marketing Cheltenham - is positioning itself as the cultural capital of the Cotswolds.
The guide is packed with suggestions including ideas for visits outside of the traditional summer season, as well as family fun, top ten romantic moments, gardens, shopping and eating out. There are also discount vouchers and a competition supported by the Lygon Arms in Broadway, Batsford Arboretum and the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire Steam Railway.
Sally Graff, from Cotswolds Tourism, says, “2019 has the potential to be a big year for both domestic and international tourism as the weak pound continues to encourage UK residents to 'staycate', and makes the UK a very attractive destination for overseas visitors. We are working with Visit England and Visit Britain to showcase The Cotswolds and promote the wonderful attractions and amenities that our local tourism sector offers. ”
The 2019 visitor guide will be marketed through Cotswolds Tourism’s social media channels and the website www.cotswolds.com(opens in a new window) and will be available at all travel trade shows (including overseas shows such as ITB Berlin in March) and via the VisitEngland and VisitBritain partnership. To reach new audiences Cotswolds Tourism has worked with Britain magazine to produce a Cotswolds supplement which has recently been released to coincide with people planning their 2019 holidays.
