Daylesford launches The Legbar - the latest hot spot in the Cotswolds
Daylesford is delighted to announce the opening of The Legbar, a new extension to the organic Daylesford café, The Trough. In keeping with The Trough and Old Spot, the name is inspired by their farm, this time celebrating much-loved rare breed Gloucestershire hens, the Daylesford Blue Legbars, who lay beautiful pastel-blue eggs.
Open all day and into the evening, The Legbar provides a relaxed, light and airy space for drinks, nibbles and small-plates as well as artisan coffee and botanical cocktails.
Furnished with low tables and comfortable armchairs, The Legbar’s long wall of glass doors opens onto a beautiful courtyard where guests can enjoy alfresco drinks and dine outside in the spring and summer months.
Serving a seasonal menu that celebrates the surrounding farm, dishes include hand-sliced charcuterie, artisan cheese plates, seasonal vegetable crudités from their organic Market Garden and delicious plant-based dips. Into the evening, guests can also enjoy dishes from The Trough’s specials board, which features seasonal produce picked in its prime each day.
The beautiful handcrafted bar is fully stocked with a selection of artisan and Koji spirits, serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic botanical cocktails, as well as their ever-popular list of organic wines, cold pressed juices, kombucha and smoothies.
Built sustainably, using fallen oak from the Daylesford estate and local Cotswolds stone, The Legbar has a fully sustainable and local footprint. The roof has been sown with grass seed to aid biodiversity by providing extra habitat for wildlife, and they have installed two bee hives to help sustain vital honeybees.
Open from 8am-11pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am-4pm on Sundays, The Legbar is the perfect space to soak up the best of Daylesford.
