Hearts for Hospices - Supporting local hospices and care providers
Hearts for Hospices is a local initiative to support our incredible local hospices and care providers across Gloucestershire and Somerset. These organisations are doing a wonderful job, helping care for those living with life-limited illnesses and supporting their loved ones. But their income is at risk, because fundraising events are being cancelled and their shops are temporarily closed due to COVID-19. Our initiative, Hearts for Hospices, is raising funds to keep their vital work going.
We are asking people of Gloucestershire and Somerset to send their love for the nurses, care specialists and the patients these hospices and care providers look after by tagging us @hearts.for.hospices and sending a heart through social media, either a selfie, art, or a heart they have made out of things around the house, donating through our donation page, and sharing the love by nominating others to do so. We are aiming to raise £10,000 for 4 local hospices and charities - St Peter's Hospice, Longfield Community Hospice Care, Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice and Penny Brohn UK.

Rachel Jones, Head of Fundraising and Marketing at Longfield Community Hospice Care, commented “It is great that communities and businesses like Campfire Marketing are rallying for local charities. The impact of Covid-19 on charity sector income is significant with the closure of charity shops, alongside many events, challenges and community fundraisers being cancelled. Charities are working hard to keep delivering essential services, care and support and now more than ever it is time to ask our communities to support appeals and fundraising initiatives.”.
