RIDE FOR RYDER RETURNS IN ITS 35TH YEAR TO RAISE FUNDS FOR SUE RYDER

Sue Ryder’s popular Ride for Ryder – The Sportive returns on Sunday 9th July 2023 and will be celebrating its 35th year.
To mark this milestone, a 160km route has been added for those looking for more of a challenge.
All money raised will go to palliative, neurological and bereavement support charity, Sue Ryder, which operates Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice in Cheltenham.

Healthcare charity, Sue Ryder, is calling on Gloucestershire residents to hop on their bikes for its 35th Ride for Ryder’s - The Sportive and help raise vitals funds to support their vital palliative, neurological and bereavement support services. Last year, an incredible 430 cyclists signed up to Ride for Ryder and raised more than £52,700 making it a huge event for the charity. In its milestone year, Sue Ryder, is looking to smash this fundraising total and the number of participants and make it the most successful Ride for Ryder yet.

While the usual routes of 40km, 60km, 90km and 130km still stand, an extra 160km route has been introduced for those looking to push themselves to the limit! With the ability to cycle a variety of route lengths, this really is an event for everyone to get involved in. Whether you are new to cycling, looking to increase your fitness, or looking for a real challenge, there is something for all.

Starting at Dean Close School in Cheltenham cyclists will be taken on beautiful routes through the stunning Cotswolds. There will be food and water stops along the way to keep the cyclists hydrated and fed, as well as those cheering them on at the side lines.

It is such a highlight of our events calendar, and we know how much the local community and those from far and wide like to get involved!

“We rely hugely on fundraisers like this one so that we can provide more care to more people and be there for families when it matters most. We can’t wait to see everyone there on 9th July!”
