Stagecoach West salutes the nation’s servicemen and women with free bus travel
Stagecoach West is supporting military personnel past and present this Remembrance Sunday by offering them free bus travel.
On November 11 the nation falls silent and remembers the British and Commonwealth soldiers, sailors and airmen who made the ultimate sacrifice.
As a mark of respect, Stagecoach West will provide free bus travel on Remembrance Sunday to Armed Forces personnel carrying a military ID card and to veterans wearing the veteran’s badge.
With Remembrance services planned at memorials across the region, it is hoped that personnel wishing to pay their respects will take up the offer to travel by bus to the service of their choice.
Rupert Cox, managing director of Stagecoach West said: “Once again, we are proud to be supporting Remembrance Sunday in this way. This year, 100 years after World War I ended, we want to express gratitude to our Armed Forces to say a big thank you to all who served, sacrificed and changed our world.
“Many of our employees are ex-service personnel or have friends or relatives in the services so it is a particularly poignant time for the team at Stagecoach West.
“Through our support we hope we can send a clear message to our Armed Forces communities across the region we operate in, including Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, South Gloucestershire, North Bristol and South Herefordshire, that we appreciate and recognise the commitment they have made to our country over the years.”
Stagecoach West is a bus operator providing services in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and South Herefordshire, in the west of England.
