Studio 10 located in the heart of Fairview community. With its soft lighting, oak floors and warm welcome is immensely inviting.  Owners Lisa and Seth have over 40 years of combined experience in body work, and at the centre of such a wealth of expertise comes consideration and compassion.

 

Studio 10 - Pilates, Stretch & Yoga


Offering workshops and over 25 classes a week. Including mixed ability Pilates classes,  Stretch Therapy , Vinyasa Yoga, Beginners Yoga and Tai classes. Classes are small with lots of individual attention and guidance. They hold an unshakable belief that regular movement really is the best thing we can do for positive health at any age and believe it can be truly life changing.

We are a non competitive Studio all the body we teach is process-focused!  Everyone is welcome.

Qualified for over 15 years in Sports Massage Therapy, Advanced Yoga
Teacher and Advanced Sports Therapy Teacher with in excess of 15 years
working in sport and wellness.

 

Seth

Certified intentional Teacher. Professional Pilates Teacher

Holds a 1st Class Honours Degree in Sports Education,
Qualified as Personal Trainer 25 years ago! , Pilates
Teacher, Sports Therapy Teacher and have worked in sports for over 25
years.

 

Studio Philosophy’s and THE IMPORTANCE OF NOT TEACHING FROM THE FRONT

What comes from experience is that you really see what a person needs. We are actively involved with are clients
assisting, teaching not instructing .

Your sessions have to have relevance to YOU !  What is the point in lifting into 100 bridge’s  if you are not activating the Gluts!

 

Activation

The body can forget HOW too activate the correct postural muscles. They can literally be asleep. We can assist in increasing
awareness to these muscles.  We work hands-on to help you in finding lift, grounding deeper connection to stabilising and
core muscles at a pace that is right for you. 

 

Variation

Finding the right variation may require guidance, or a small prop. It is process-focused not end position focused. This has a
MASSIVE impact on getting the most out of your Pilates.

PILATES

Studio 10 - Pilates, Stretch and Yoga

Our Pilates Classes will help you move efficiently. Pilates can drastically change the way the body looks, feels, performs. It addresses postural imbalance and builds strength without excess bulk. Pilates teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement, improving flexibility, balance and agility.

Connecting the mind and breath and movement will give you a fulfilling practice.

 

STRETCH THERAPY

Studio 10 - Pilates, Stretch & Yoga

Our muscles can become tight or restricted due to development reasons, habitual patterns, emotional stress, injuries or trauma.  Maybe due bad habits such as slouching, pushing the head forwards, standing with the hip out to one side or repetitive use on one side. We are currently working with a Cello player, golf players tennis players for example.

Neuro-muscular reprogramming aim's to re-educate the body and reduce habitual movement pattens which may cause structural misalignments and be the starting potential for pain and injury.

 

YOGA

Studio 10 - Pilates, Stretch and Yoga

Regular Yoga practice can improve your overall Wellbeing, increasing Energy Levels and help you develop a Strength and Flexibility both physically and emotionally. Explore how our bodies and minds work and how you can help your healthy and wellbeing. We have two fantastic Yoga Teachers at the Studio offering three different classes.


Beginners

If you New to yoga or looking for a class that covers the foundations of practice?

Explore how our bodies move and discover the Sun Salutation ( Surya Namaskara) breaking down each asana (posture) within it and looking at the steps/stages (Kramas) to achieve each posture. Combined with breathing practices, body strengthening work and the introduction of the Yogic Philosophies of Patanjali’s Yamas & Niyamas


Vinyasa Yoga

Studio 10 - Pilates, Stretch and Yoga

Offers guidance through a sequence of Asanas as one continuous movement from start to finish. Every movement into or out of a posture is linked to an in breath and an out breath with intention - the underlying reason for the practise drives the movement forward. A practise to introduce you to mantras, different breathing techniques, short meditation and with music guiding you through a strong flow practise. Connecting the breath throughout the practise will leave you balanced, grounded and uplifted physically, mentally and emotionally.
