Talk and Q&A: Soil-to-Soil: A Regenerative Approach to Designing Knitwear
New Brewery Arts, Cirencester
Dates: 30/03/2023
Venue: New Brewery Arts
Ria Burns follows the Fibershed approach of creating soil-to-soil textiles - meaning her knitwear from natural fibres and totally biodegradable. At the end of its life as a garment, the wool can be composted, returning nutrients to the soil.
From sourcing her wool as locally as possible, to becoming an accidental horticulturalist by growing her own plants for natural dyeing, to designing zero waste garments to be cherished, looked after and passed on; in this talk she will take you through her journey, showcase her work and provide some practical tips on sustainable knitwear making.
This talk is part of the event programme, alongside our Fibershed exhibition.
Date & Time: Thursday 30th March, 7pm - 8pm
Venue: Main Gallery, New Brewery Arts
Price: £8.00
