Dance-A-Thon

Last year we held a 12 Hour Dance-A-Thon in the beautiful grounds at Great Oaks. Dancers of all ages came  throughout the day and danced for as little or as long as they liked with a few people managing the whole 12 hours. This year we are hosting it again and will change it slightly to cover music from the fifties through to the nineties including routines like the Macarena, Cha Cha Slide, Saturday Night and The Conga. Shelley from www.everybodyfitness.co.uk will take part for the duration and will even show you the moves. Lisa from LVC Fitness will also be bringing some of her Fitsteps Class Members along too.There will also be a Jive Session and a Salsa class  (where you can all learn the basic movesto some fabulous music. Line Dancing and Zumba sessions will also take place.  This is a fantastic way to keep fit, it’s fun too. The list is endless and you can even put your request in before the day and times you will be coming along to ensure you get to dance to those favourites. If the weather is bad we can set up and dance inside. If you would like to come by yourself ( many did last year), with some friends or even with your exercise or dance class please bring them along there will be all styles of dancing. If your Dance Class would like to have their own style of dancing please just let us know the times you are coming along so that we can accommodate.  Dress up if you so  like and have fun whilst raising money for Great Oaks at the same time. We have a Live DJ all day  Pete at www.petesteaddj.com who will be taking requests,  and you are welcome to please share any with him prior to the day. Drinks and  lots of snacks including fruit, cake and energy bars  will be available  throughout the day. There will All welcome Registration forms will be available shortly with the entrance fee being just £10, where every penny of this will go towards helping to support our patients and their families. We hope to see you there. 💃🕺🎤

The event will raise money for Great Oaks who offer a range of services for adults with a serious illness that potentially may shorten their lives and is currently affecting their quality of life. Families are included in their care.
All of  their work is provided by experienced staff and aided by trained volunteers.
Great Oaks need £600,000 each year to fund their services, the NHS contributes 5% and the rest is generated through their shops, fundraising events, grants, donations and legacies.
