Free Domestic Abuse Training

Gloucestershire

GDASS will be supporting Green Square Accord in offering multiple free, full-day training across Gloucestershire over the course of the next year.

Dates for the next three months are as follows:

14th February - Dowty Sports and Social, Gloucester

23rd February - George Watson Memorial Hall, Tewkesbury

15th March - The Wesley, Cinderford

23rd March - Cirencester Town Football Club, Cirencester

The timings will be 10am-4pm.

This is comprehensive training on understanding, working with and responding to domestic abuse within Gloucestershire. It is designed to help you:

• Have a knowledge of domestic abuse, including the definition, types of domestic abuse, and coercive control
• Understand criminal offences relating to DA
• Understand domestic abuse perpetrator behaviour
• Be able to recognise domestic abuse risk factors, including specific risk factors for young people
• Know the risk of homicide and suicide in DA cases
• Know how to use the DASH risk assessment, including the young person’s DASH
• Have an awareness of the MARAC process in Gloucestershire
• Be able to recognise different risk levels and how to respond appropriately
• Have an understanding of appropriate safety planning, safeguarding, and signposting in DA cases
• Know how to respond to a disclosure of domestic abuse
• Be able to refer victims of domestic abuse to appropriate support services

There are limited spaces on each of these events, but we will be holding the same training throughout the course of 2023.
