Concert details : The Cheltenham Philharmonic Orchestra presents a performance of Verdi Requiem at 3pm, Sunday 25th June 2023 at Cheltenham Town Hall. The concert features the Cheltenham Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, Churchdown Choral Society, Philomusica and Cantate Domino with soloists Ellie Neate (soprano), Lauren Young (mezzo soprano), Andrew Morris (tenor) and Alaric Green (bass). The performance will be conducted by Stephen Belinfante with Leader Sue Belinfante.

 

Tickets £14 - £20 via Cheltenham Town Hall Box Office.

The Cheltenham Philharmonic Orchestra is delighted to present a very special performance of the glorious Verdi Requiem as part of their delayed 125th anniversary celebrations. The Cheltenham Philharmonic was formed in 1895 and performed the Requiem during their first year. In this celebratory concert the orchestra is delighted to be joined by the specially formed Cheltenham Philharmonic Chorus and three other local choirs : Churchdown Choral Society, Philomusica and Cantate Domino. The concert will feature four exciting and very talented young soloists including Ellie Neate (soprano). Ellie is from Cheltenham and has recently performed with English National Opera.

The concert will open with Cheltenham Philharmonic Brass playing Richard Strauss : Fanfare for the Wiener Philharmoniker which was recently heard at the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.

The orchestra warmly invites everyone to join us for a thrilling afternoon of music in the splendour of Cheltenham Town Hall.
