The exquisite blend of Mozart and Mahler, two contrasting bookends of the Austrian tradition, brings this season to a stirring close.

From Mozart, a sublime operatic overture and an early violin concerto, spanning the years 1775 (concerto) and 1790 (Cosi), while his late-Romantic compatriot – one of the composers who ushered in the incredible musical adventure that was the 20th century – offers up a movement which was removed from his 1st symphony after just 3 performances and never performed again until the 1968 Aldeburgh Fesival, and then the ethereal and at times prayerful 4th symphony, the two works spanning the years 1888 and 1901.

A special closing concert indeed.

Please note there is a £2 ticket commission fee included in the price of the ticket.
