Capriol Chamber Orchestra Spring Concert

Stroud

Dates: Saturday 11th February 2023 at 7.30pm

Venue: Holy Trinity Church, Stroud

The Capriol Chamber Orchestra is thrilled to announce that Clare Hammond is our soloist on Saturday 11th February 2023 at Holy Trinity Stroud at 7.30pm. Clare will be playing the Rachmaninov ‘Paganini Variations’ with the orchestra, a delightful work that many will recognise, comprising 24 variations on a theme.

A “pianist of extraordinary gifts” (Gramophone) and “immense power” (The Times), Clare Hammond is recognised for the virtuosity and authority of her performances. In 2016, she won the Royal Philharmonic Society's 'Young Artist Award' in recognition of outstanding achievement. Community engagement forms an increasingly important part of Clare’s work. Since 2017, she has performed to over 9,600 schoolchildren in partnership with Gloucestershire Music and Wye Valley Music in Schools.

The programme also includes the Larsson Pastoral Suite op.19 and concludes with Nielsen’s Symphony No.1.

£12 (concessions £10), £1 reduction on tickets purchased prior to concert evening. Children under 16 free. We can now take card payment on the door. Tickets available in advance from the Sub Rooms Box Office tel: 01453 796880.
