FREE - From The Ground Up Sustainability Festival to Show Everyone Can Make a Difference
Cheltenham - Lots of Stalls and Talks
Saturday 12th February 2022 - 10am to 4pm - St Philip & St James’ Church, Cheltenham
Entry is free
A Festival of Sustainability for all the family
A one-day sustainability festival is to be held at St Phillip’s & St James’ Church in Leckhampton in February.
From the Ground Up aims to show local people how they can make a difference. Exhibitors, companies, charities and community groups will come together to share information and inspire visitors.
There will be talks throughout the day with speakers including the renowned environmental campaigner, Jonathan Porritt. There will also be talks from Ecotricity, Cleevely EV Motors, Vison 21, SWEA, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, Woodland Trust, Royal Agricultural University, i-personalstyling, Dr John Meadley.
Children play such an important part in our future so selected artwork from the children's competition "It's a Bug's Life" will be on display. Official opening followed by the prize giving at 11.35 am.
The event is free and held in partnership with Ecotricity and Cleevely EV Motors. Festival Organiser, Vanessa Angelo-Thomson said: ‘It’s called From the Ground Up because everything comes from the soil, and we can only achieve our sustainability goals if everyone gets involved. The festival is designed to show that anyone can take simple steps.’
Eoin McQuone of Sustainable Business Design who specialises in helping small businesses assess and manage their carbon footprints said: ‘While it’s great that many local businesses and organisations large and small have signed the Council’s Cheltenham Zero pledge, this Festival is designed to show how every individual can make a difference, however small, towards achieving the town’s Zero goal by 2030.’
The Festival takes place on Saturday 12th February at the recently re-ordered St Philip’s and St James’ Church, Leckhampton.
