COLEFORD AREA WALKING FESTIVAL

Bookings are coming in well for this years’ Coleford Area Walking Festival that is set to take place next month. The event which runs from Saturday 11th to Sunday 19th of May is a jointly funded initiative between Coleford Town Council and the Coleford Area Partnership and features 23 walks covering a variety of themes and offering something for people of all abilities. The main changes to the event this year have included the addition of a second weekend, offer people who work more chance to access the event programme and also an increase in the number of medium to long walks (7-14 miles) for the more committed walker.
Walks range in length and difficulty from a fully accessible 1 mile walk around Mallards Pike to more strenuous walks of 8-14 miles. Included within the programme is a ‘Discovery walk around Woorgreens’ – the Forest’s hidden gem, a ‘Mining trail walk’ around Moseley Green, a ‘Historical Stroll around Parkend’ and a look at the ‘Greathough Brook Beaver project.
