Capriol Chamber Orchestra Summer Concert

The Capriol Chamber Orchestra is delighted to be celebrating stage and screen with our guest soprano Phillipa Lay on Saturday 10th June at St Mary’s Church, North Woodchester at 7.30pm.

The programme will include music from Star Wars by John Williams, The Mission by Morricone, Porgy and Bess by Gershwin. Also featuring music from Bizet's Carmen and Selections from Les Miserables as well as Mozart's Haffner Symphony.

Our guest soloist is well-known local soprano, Phillippa Lay. Having completed a post-graduate vocal performance course at the Birmingham Conservatoire, under the tutelage of mezzo-soprano Louise Crane, Phillippa has performed on numerous commercial recordings, as well as in many recitals, oratorios and concerts across the UK. Her most high-profile role to date was as a Princess Diana look-alike in the jointly produced Channel 4 and PBS Arts Channel television opera, ‘When She Died; The Death of a Princess’ written to commemorate the fifth anniversary of her death, with music by Jonathan Dove and libretto by David Harsent.

£12 (concessions £10), £1 reduction on tickets purchased prior to concert evening. Children under 16 free. We can now take card payment on the door. Tickets will available from a fortnight before the concert from the Sub Rooms Box Office tel: 01453 796880.
