September Events at The Exmouth including comedy, film and beer week!

Various Events in September 2019

Back to school, a slight nip in the air and the nights are closing in, but fear not we're raring to go here at the exmouth. From comedy to live music, beer, rugby and cinema, September is as action packed as a Ben Stokes' innings. So, on your marks, get sept, here we go.

Our first comedy event takes place this evening, Thursday 5th, with the welcome return of Scallywags Comedy. An evening of top-class stand-up comedy hosted by the sharp witted Jon Wagstaffe. Doors open at 7:30pm for an 8:00pm start. It’s free entry and that's no joke. Then at the end of the month on Friday 27th we see the return of lunchtime comedy with Aftermirth. Daytime adult comedy that you can bring your baby along to.

It's your lucky night on Friday 13th when we welcome back the supremely talented Soul Strutters. Playing specially handpicked songs from the golden era of funk, soul, disco and rare groove, we dare you not to shake your groove thing, yeah, yeah! Then on Friday 20th enjoy Laggy Strides, aka Josh McDonnell, with his brand of raw indie rock. Inspired by bands such as The Libertines, The Stone Roses and The Beatles, we’re in for a great night. For something different again, come along on Saturday 28th for a rocking night of music with SlowJin. Playing classic and contemporary blues and rock, trust us you don't want to miss these guys. All music starts at 9pm.

Cheltenham Beer Week returns from Friday 13th - Sunday 22nd and of course we're taking part. For the duration you can look forward to some delicious offers including our Beer Burger for just £10 and our Beer & Wings promotion; a bucket of tasty Chicken Wings and a pint of beer, also £10.

On Saturday 14th we will once more join up with our sister pubs; the Royal and the Strand, for the return of the Barking Mad Ale Trail. A fun trail, involving free beer, fiendish clues (not really) and general silliness. Then on Sunday 22nd our regular quiz switches to the Big Beer Inter Pub Challenge Quiz. As well as competing with other teams in the exmouth, you'll also be setting your wits against players in the Royal too! The team who scores the most points across the two pubs takes home all the beer related prizes and gains the winning pub the bragging rights. Find out more details about Beer Week activities here.

We're certainly ready for the whistle on Friday 20th with the start of the Rugby World Cup. We'll be showing all the action and even getting up bright and early for some key matches when we will open earlier than usual and offer Breakfast Baps to boot. Check out the details here.

Exmouth Cinema is back on Thursday 26th and we'll be showing the excellent Rocketman. Starring Taron Egerton the film tells the story of Elton John’s breakthrough years. Singing along is a must! 'It’s going to be a long, long time' before you see anything this good again. Starts 8pm.
