Jazz In The Studio

Cheltenham

Presented by Cheltenham Jazz

Tim Whitehead Quartet Mon 27th January
During the 1970s tenor saxophonist Tim Whitehead toured extensively with Ian Carr's Nucleus, and in the 1980s he was a member of the groundbreaking big band Loose Tubes.

These days he leads his own top notch bands, including a quartet comprising pianist Jonathan Gee, bassist Andy Hammill and drummer Tom Hooper.

Chris Ingham Quartet: The Jazz of Dudley Moore Mon 14 April
As well as being one of the leading funnymen and satirists of the 1960s, Dudley Moore was an accomplished jazz pianist and composer, though he rarely received the acclaim he deserved.

Pianists Chris Ingham seeks to restore Dudley's reputation with a finely-crafted tribute concert, in the company of Paul Higgs on trumpet, Geoff Gascoyne on bass and George Double on drums.
