Hospice grounds in full bloom for popular open gardens event

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice is inviting visitors to enjoy its stunning gardens this June as it opens its gates once again for the National Open Garden Scheme.
The hospice, which houses Gloucestershire’s only inpatient unit for specialist palliative care, will welcome guests on Sunday 22 June 2025, from 11am to 4pm for a chance to explore its beautiful outdoor spaces.
Among the highlights is the feature garden area, which underwent a major redesign last year thanks to support from the National Garden Scheme (NGS). The refreshed space, designed by RHS Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winner Peter Dowle, showcases a striking mix of trees, shrubs, and a vibrant rose bank, providing year-round colour and tranquillity.
Visitors can also take in the breathtaking Malvern Hills views and follow the Charles Irving Woodland Walk, an accessible, all-weather path winding through the hospice’s peaceful pond and woodland setting, home to a rich variety of wildlife. From the pathway visitors will catch a glimpse of a special Yellow Norwegian Maple tree, planted by His Majesty the King, the hospice’s patron, to mark his 70th birthday during his last visit.
Entry is £6 per adult, while children can visit for free. Light refreshments, sold in support of the hospice, will be available, or people are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the back lawn. Free parking is available on-site.
