Cheltenham Local History Society - Summer Afternoon

Montpellier, Cheltenham

Dates: Saturday 12th July 2025

Venue: St Andrew's United Reformed Church

The Cheltenham Local History Society summer afternoon event is on Saturday 12 July, at St Andrews Church in Montpellier. Tickets can be obtained at the door, which opens at 1.30pm.

This year our theme will be Hospitality and, in addition to displays prepared by the participating societies, there will be two talks on the subjects of 'Hospitality in a Changing World, The Savoy Hotel Cheltenham, 1945-1986' AND 'What the visitors thought: a light-hearted look at Cheltenham since the 1700s'.

Alternatively, we have arranged two walks on 'Boarding and Lodging Houses for Visitors to the Spa' AND 'Historic Hostelries and Bygone Boozers' bookable on the day (limited numbers for each). All this and a chance for a chat over tea and biscuits! All are welcome.
