Gloucestershire Retro Gaming Championship
Stroud
Dates: Sunday, 10 December
Venue: The Cave Retro Gaming Museum in Chalford, Stroud!

Join us for an action-packed day of nostalgia and fun at The Cave Gaming Museum in Chalford, Stroud!
We're hosting the first-ever Gloucestershire Retro Gaming Championship to raise funds for Young Gloucestershire.
Entrants will compete in three classic games:
1. Sonic the Hedgehog - Green Hill Zone 1 Speed Run (Mega Drive):
Race against the clock as you try to complete Sonic's iconic adventures in record time. Show your retro gaming skills and aim for the top of the leaderboard!
2. Galaxian - High Score Challenge (Arcade):
Experience the thrill of the arcade classic, Galaxian. Compete for the highest score, and prove that you've got the best gaming reflexes in town!
3. Chuckie Egg - 5 Lives High Score (BBC Micro):
Take on the challenge of Chuckie Egg and see how many lives you can conquer in this classic BBC Micro game. Will you be the Chuckie Egg champion?
Entrants can also take full advantage of the museum and attached arcade for a day of playing your favourite retro gaming classics!
We're inviting local businesses to put forward a Retro Gaming representative for the competition. The registration fee is £50 (plus Eventbrite fees), and we encourage colleagues to contribute to fundraising for their chosen gamer. It's a fantastic opportunity to bond with colleagues, support a noble cause, and claim bragging rights as the best retro gamer in your company (you might even want to host your own internal tournament to decide who represents you!).
Why Support Young Gloucestershire (YG)?
YG supports young people (aged 11-25) facing challenges in their lives. At a time when support services for young people are decreasing, last year, nearly 5,000 young people – those with disruptive home lives, care-leavers, academic underachievers, those with drug and alcohol dependencies, young parents/carers, young offenders, those coping with mental health issues and refugee and asylum seekers turned to us for help in finding practical ways to motivate themselves, to develop confidence and to gain the transferable skills they need to get on track and to move into a job, education or training.
Get ready for a day of fierce competition, camaraderie, and a chance to be crowned Gloucestershire's Retro Gaming Champion. Don't miss out—register your team now and help us make a positive impact on the lives of young people in Gloucestershire!
