November sees many of us already trying to get a head start on Christmas. We scour the shops for presents and buy up all the Christmas goodies while they are still in abundance on the shelves. By the beginning of December, the house is decorated, the presents are wrapped and the cupboards are full of yummy food.
We do this so that we can just sit down and enjoy the experience of Christmas!!
But very often, Christmas becomes a nightmare… We spend hours trying to find something special to wear, only to end up in a crumpled mess in front of the mirror, feeling like a failure. We hide the feelings from the family and put on a brave face over Christmas dinner, while secretly counting how many calories are in a roast potato and opting for the Brussel sprouts instead, even though we hate the damn things. By the end of the festivities, we feel guilty because we’ve drunk too much, eaten all the “bad” food, and created a few arguments with the people we love the most…
