REVIEW: Murder Mystery Dinner

On Saturday we packed our Columbo notepads and Poirot sleuthing skills and headed to the Doubletree by Hilton for a murder mystery evening.

After a warm welcome and a complimentary glass of fizz, we headed to the bar to discuss tactics. Soon after, we were asked to take our seats in the recently refurbished Park Suite.

The spacious and elegant room accommodated ten tables of 10-12 guests, plus plenty of space for the actors to play out scenes in good view of the audience. 

Before the starters, our host for the night introduced the actors and set the location for the 'murder' about to take place.

As we tucked into our delicious Chicken and Chorizo Ballotine and Walnut Crusted Goats Cheese starters, our table began to discuss the first scene and formulate our plan for the first round of suspects questioning.

Provided with a notepad and pencil, each table had 2 minutes to interrogate the suspects and witnesses. Our table had great fun dissecting the clues and connections between the characters and we soon narrowed down our inquiry to two people. 

Stunning mains followed shortly after and our pre-ordered Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Roulade and Salmon, Pea and Mint Risotto were both exquisite in taste and presentation. 

The service from the waiting staff was excellent and friendly yet discreet which allowed for the evening to flow effortlessly. 

Subtle clues were left on our table and further high drama scenes from the characters allowed the suspense and fun to build. 

The final offering for our three-course meal was a sweet Blueberry Crumble Cheesecake and Chocolate and Caramel tart, teas and coffees rounded off a perfect evening hosted by a superb venue.

But...who did it? That is the question???
