Mr Stink

Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham

Mr Stink 1

What a treat on a Tuesday night to head to the Everyman Theatre and watch this heartwarming tale with my daughter.

Wonderfully written by the brilliant David Walliams, Mr Stink is about a loveable but rather smelly homeless man, played by Chickensheds own Bradley Davies.

The story unfolds as an unlikely friendship develops between Mr Stink and a kind-hearted girl called Chloe.
Played by the talented Lucy Mae Beacock, Chloe reaches out to Stink through curiosity but soon realises he can offer companionship in a world of school bullies and her particularly overbearing mother.

Mr Stink 2

Mr Stink's mysterious and chipper character, leads Chloe to want to find out more. She allows him to take up residency in her shed at the bottom of the garden but soon the rest of her family discover her secret.  With an unexpected plot twist, Mr Stink is catapulted into the national limelight and his message is clear - 'That every homeless person has a story to tell and the truth might surprise you'.

Mr Stink 3
Though poignant, the show, with its cast from the Chickenshed Theatre group based in North London, will have you giggling in your seats and tapping your toes along to playful songs about sausages and smells.
