Play the Bandura Workshop (Gloucester Ukraine Festival)

Gloucester

Dates: 17/05/2025

Venue: The Folk of Gloucester, 99-103 Westgate Street

3pm & 4pm

Galyna Grigoriadi is a professional bandura player and singer from the Ukraine. She came to Hereford with her family to seek safety, and one thing she brought with her from war-torn country was her bandura. The bandura is a plucked string folk instrument combining elements of the zither and the lute, and represents the soul of Ukraine. Learn to play a Ukrainian folk tune in just one hour with Galyna, who runs regular bandura classes in Hereford and Gloucester.

Workshops take place at 3pm and 4pm. Banduras are provided and the class is suitable for all abilities - no previous experiences needed. Tickets are £15 for general admission and £10 for all concessions.
