The Ledbury Waytes will entertain you with Christmas tunes from the medieval period alongside tunes you know today as Christmas Carols that were based on medieval dance tunes – the word “carol” originally meaning a song or tune with an accompanying circle dance.

 

Hear about the origins of some of our Christmas traditions and listen to such instruments as the Symphonie and Hurdy Gurdy, the medieval fiddle, crumhorns, gemshorns, shawms and rauschpfeife along with assorted percussion.
