Cheltenham Welcomes Refugees Film Night: Qeluar (Out)

Cheltenham

Dates: 16/04/2026

Venue: Cheltenham Playhouse

Qeluar (Out) (a short independent film by Justice Khor) tells the story of the first LGBTQ+ refugee in the UK. Warren Hallett joins us on stage to answer questions about the film, the life he has built in England over the last 30+ years, and his work helping other refugees and asylum seekers.

He will be joined by staff from Garas ( Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers, who support LGBTQ+ people with their applications for asylum, and Zariq Rosita Hanif, an artist, performer and a trans woman from Malaysia. Zariq will close the evening sharing Folk Law, personal accounts and difficult facts faced by the Transgender community in Malaysia. It should be a really interesting evening!
