Christopher Nolan's new film with an all star cast, based on the classic Greek epic by Homer, follows the adventures, trials and years of wanderings of Odysseus king of Ithaca as he journeys home victorious after the Trojan War. He sets out to cross the Mediterranean Sea accompanied by his fellow soldiers, but soon they are battling not only the elements but an array of deadly obstacles, mythical monsters, magical entrapments and angry gods. And after years of awaiting his return, his faithful wife Penelope has to employ all her cunning to keep suitors, apparently intent on consuming her fortune, at bay...
Nolan's film has received huge acclaim, 5 star reviews, and massive box office success.
“Doing full justice to the Homeric legend, Christopher Nolan amasses an epic cast to convey the true cost of war with film-making of thrilling ambition” 5 stars The Guardian
“Filmmaking at a magnitude few modern directors could ever realistically imagine, demand, or execute.” 5 stars John Nugent, Empire
