SUE RYDER LECKHAMPTON COURT HOSPICE RELAUNCHES RUN CLUB AHEAD OF RUN CHELTENHAM 2024

Cheltenham

Venue: Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice announces the return of its Run Club to prepare people for the upcoming Run Cheltenham event on Sunday 1 September.

Hosted in partnership with Battle Bootcamp, The Run Club kicks off on Thursday 25 April at 6pm at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, which houses the only palliative care inpatient unit in Gloucestershire. Subsequent bi-weekly sessions will take place at Central Cross Café in Pittville Park, with additional runs hosted by Battle Bootcamp on alternate weeks which Sue Ryder runners are able to join for free.

Sarah Day, Run Club coach from Battle Bootcamp, said: "We are extremely proud to be supporting Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice and hosting their Run Club for the second year. Last year we really enjoyed taking the team out on group runs and helping them achieve their Run Cheltenham goals. Our members got involved and collectively raised over £3,000 which was amazing.

Some of the Battle Bootcamp team have experienced the care Sue Ryder provides on a personal level, so it meant a lot to be able to give back and help support other families in need of their expert care. Come along and join us at Run Club to get ready for race day."

Matt Reay, Community Fundraising Manager at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice said: "We're thrilled to partner with Battle Bootcamp again for our Run Club. Their expertise and support were invaluable last year in helping our runners cross the finish line while raising crucial funds for our hospice. Join us for our first run club session on Thursday 25th April up at the hospice. Even for those not quite ready for Run Cheltenham or maybe you’re working towards a different challenge our doors are certainly open and we’d love to welcome you to our inclusive community run club.

If you want to be part of Team Sue Ryder this September then we’re also encouraging everyone to take advantage of our Early Bird offer until May 6th and sign up for Run Cheltenham through our charity places."

Run Cheltenham participants can choose from a half marathon, 10K, or one-mile distance, with an exclusive Sue Ryder Energy Zone along the route to cheer on runners. Charity place registration is discounted and includes training plans, fundraising support, and access to the Run Club. The Early Bird offer runs until Monday 6 May.
