On your marks for Run Cheltenham 2026 as Sue Ryder calls for runners

Sue Ryder is inviting people across Gloucestershire to get set for a challenge this autumn by signing up to Run Cheltenham 2026.

As headline charity partner for Run Cheltenham 2026, the charity is encouraging runners of all abilities to take part on Sunday 20 September and help raise money for its palliative and bereavement support.
The popular event offers three distances, making it suitable for experienced runners, those taking on their first race, and families looking to get involved.

Each year, hundreds of people choose to run for Sue Ryder, creating a strong sense of camaraderie on race day and helping the charity continue its work supporting local families.

Matt Reay, Community Fundraising Manager at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, said: “Run Cheltenham is always a highlight of our year. It brings together people from across the county who want to challenge themselves while supporting local hospice care, and we’re proud to be there for our runners every step of the way.

“From fundraising guidance and regular event updates, we make sure everyone feels part of the team. On race day, our cheer point and post race area are ready to welcome runners as they cross the finish line. Every person who chooses to run for Sue Ryder helps us continue to be there for families when it matters most, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.”
