Celebrating in style! Yate care home hosts Royal Regatta celebrations

A care home in Bristol put on their glad rags to mark the best-known regatta in the world.
Care UK’s Ladden View in Yate pulled out all the stops to commemorate the recent Henley Royal Regatta.
The Fletcher Road home was transformed for the occasion, with team members and guests dressing in their best as they enjoyed a special afternoon tea in the sunshine, specially prepared by the home’s kitchen team.
Guests were entertained by singer Emily from Mini Concerts, who filled the home with a background of toe-tapping music. There was also a quiz to test everyone’s knowledge of the iconic international event.
88-year-old resident Valerie Cook said: “It was a fantastic and really well thought out event from start to finish. The array of entertainment was fabulous and the food on offer was absolutely delicious.
“Thank you to all the team for organising such a brilliant day for everyone. I was lucky enough to enjoy the day surrounded by my family who attended with me. We were so lucky with the weather, we had beautiful sunshine – overall such a wonderful day!”
Sarah Daly, Home Manager at Ladden View, said: “We had such a fantastic time hosting a spectacular regatta-themed party for the team members and residents.
“We love a good garden party here at Ladden View, and the regatta gave us the perfect reason to do so; it was brilliant to see everyone in their finery for a day in the sunshine. Our celebrations were a brilliant opportunity to share residents’ sporting memories of times gone by.
“I’d like to thank everyone who joined us to celebrate in style and our team, who worked so hard to make the day special.”
