Snow much fun – Bristol care home residents have a blast at après ski party

A care home in Bristol transported residents to the slopes of the French Alps for a memorable celebration.

Residents at Care UK’s Ladden View, on Fletcher Road, were transported to a snowy retreat as they marked the "sweet spot" of the 2025/2026 ski season with a spectacular après ski party.

The home was transformed into a mountain-inspired haven, complete with winter-themed decorations and a lively party atmosphere. Residents enjoyed hot chocolates, and WaterADE hydration jelly shots made by the chef, before putting on their dancing ‘snow boots’ to dance to classic alpine tunes and a live saxophonist.

The celebration also sparked fond memories of winters gone by, with residents reminiscing about days spent skiing with friends and family.

Commenting on the fun-filled event, Tegwen Hopkins resident at Ladden View said: “I had a wonderful time! I’m always up for a dance, especially where there’s a saxophone.”

Sarah Daly, Home Manager at Ladden View, said: “We were delighted to welcome the residents to our après ski party and dance the afternoon away. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to bring a taste of the 2025/2026 ski season to the residents, especially those that used to ski.

“Events like this are a real reflection of our commitment to creating meaningful, engaging experiences that bring residents together, spark happy memories, and ensure every day here is filled with warmth, laughter and variety.”
