Kato is a really special boy and a firm staff favourite here at the shelter. He is always making us laugh with his goofy antics, especially when he pulls out his signature move of doing roly-polies all over his toys! Kato is very affectionate and will sit with you for ages having fuss and cuddles – you can expect to be batted with a paw or be told with a whine if he feels he hasn’t had a satisfactory amount!

Although Kato is a lovely boy, he does like to have space around his resources as he will guard food and some toys, so for this reason he is looking for an adult only home, ideally with people who have experience of managing resource guarding. Kato is very used to walking in the urban area around the shelter, however he does wear a muzzle on these walks as he can be worried in specific situations e.g dogs running up to him, people directly approaching him and cats tempting him for a chase, but he is very familiar with wearing the muzzle so this doesn’t phase him at all.

Kato’s favourite things to do are enrichment food puzzles, scent work games, playing with tennis balls (and rolling all over them!), listening to classical music and having lots of fuss and being told how good he is!

As much as we all adore Kato, we would love for him to find the forever home he deserves, he really will be a once in a lifetime dog for someone and a very loyal best friend.
