Review: Only Fools and Three Courses

DoubleTree by Hilton Cheltenham

03307 1477402533201

Last Friday we were treated to a cushty night out at the DoubleTree Hilton. We were greeted by the droning tones of Boycie and found Marlene propping up the bar! All this entertainment before we’d even sat down!

The theme of the evening was a party for Boycie and Marlene’s son. Before the starters were served we were introduced to all our favourite main characters - Del Boy, Rodney, Trigger and Uncle Albert.

They roamed amongst the crowd delivering pinpoint accents and funny gags.

The food when it came was delicious, butternut squash and sweet potato soup and mains of roasted pork loin or haddock fillet. The deserts were my personal favourite though, banoffee torte or apple and sultana crumble (vegetarian options were also available).

The cast regularly crashed the dining room performing some well-known scenes and jokes. The actor playing Rodney was almost better than the real one, perfect tone and mannerisms. They had the crowd in hysterics with word-perfect recreations of Batman and Robin, the blow-up dolls and many more old favourites, culminating in Raquel performing a memorable duet with Tony Angelino  - which had the audience cwying.

A hilarious evening, lovely food and laughs from start to finish. Highly recommended
