Review: Hundred Watt Club - Burlesque & Vaudeville

Guildhall, Gloucester

Lena Bunny 2 by Scott Chalmers 538386

Set in the stunning Guildhall in Gloucester, The Hundred Watt Club treated audiences to a fabulous evening of fun, frolic and raucous burlesque cabaret.

The shows compere warmed up the audience with some witty banter and risqué songs. The more nervous amongst us desperately trying to avoid her gaze as she went walking around the hall looking for juicy gossip before introducing the first act.

The ‘up for it’ crowd roared along as the Havana Hurricane performed her revealing dance routine with clothes and tassels flying everywhere!

Act after act followed, with gravity-defying acrobat and circus performer Jamie Double wowing with his chair balancing, before the foul-mouthed (and slightly frightening) Aunty Mae staggered on stage with some hilariously crude songs and audience interaction.

After a short interval, we returned to our seats for an entertaining second half which didn't disappoint!

If you are after a fabulous adult evening with friends or just curious to find out more, pop along to the next show returning to Gloucester in May.
