Flowers Band
Stroud
Dates: 15/02/2026
Venue: The Sub Rooms
The band were formed in 1968 from the remnants of the disbanded Band of the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars, and have grown in stature ever since. In recent years the band has cemented its status amongst the leading bands of the world, with contesting successes at all major competitions and a top 10 ranking for over a decade. In September 2024 the band achieved 2nd place at The British Open Championships, its highest ever result at the contest, securing their place to represent England at the 2026 European Championships. The programme will include a delightful variety of styles, including original music written for the band, classic brass band repertoire, arrangements of pop hits and more! Flowers' star soloists will be on their feet once again, to dazzle the audience with their virtuosic technique and stunning musicality. On the concert scene, the band has appeared at prestigious festivals such as Three Choirs Festival, Ripon International Festival, and Newbury Spring Festival, alongside more unconventional appearances like providing entertainment and national anthems in the show jumping arena of Badminton Horse Trials. The band has forged a reputation for innovative repertoire, high quality playing, all combined with the hilarious commentary of conductor Paul Holland.
