Sacred Choruses - Choir of Christ Church

Cheltenham

Dates: 19th September 2021

 Concert of Choral and Organ music given by Christ Church Choir Cheltenham, Directed by Timothy Ingold and guest Organist Matthew Martin. 

 

 

There has been a robed choir at Christ Church since the inauguration Jan 1840. Today the choir has 15 members with a number of supernumeraries who help out at larger services and concerts.

Music for this concert will include works by Bairstow – Bullock – Goodhall – Handel - Harris – Mendelssohn – Murrill – Purcell – Rutter – Stanford – Wood

Our Guest Organist Matthew Martin originated from Cheltenham, having attended Tewkesbury Abbey School and Dean Close. Matthew was for a short while a member of Christ Church Choir before moving on to Magdalen College Oxford to read Music

Today Matthew is Precentor and Director of College Music at Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge.

Entry to this concert is free with donations Coffee and Cakes afterwards
